Title: Russian State Policies in Current Foreign Trade
Authors: Malashevskaya, Irina
Abstract: The paper provides an overview of the current economic situation in Russia on the basis of macroeconomic indices. It gives an analysis of the role of foreign trade as a factor of sustainable development and assesses current state policies before turning to the question of the state participation in the current economic situation ranging from the state-run monopoly to privately-owned firms in oil sector which appeared as a result of privatisation. Furthermore, tendencies of the current development are investigated. In view of world experiences possible risks and positive tendencies are underlined. On the basis of actor-specific approach there is a final discussion of certain issues which should shape the country s modernisation and (changes in) its economic policies in the future.
